Around 4,200 Seattle City Light customers in Burien lost power on Sunday, Sept. 21 after mylar balloons became entangled in power lines, the utility reported.

City Light first posted about the outage at 3:54 p.m., then announced the restoration at 4:35 p.m.

Seattle City Light said crews responded quickly and restored electricity to all affected customers.

The outage initially cut service to homes and businesses across parts of Burien, though power was returned to most customers within a short time.

The utility thanked residents for their patience and reminded the public that metallic balloons can cause dangerous outages when they come into contact with electrical wires.
