Trillium Kids, a new children’s clothing and toy shop, will celebrate its grand opening in downtown Burien this weekend, Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025.
Chelsey Hancock and Monica Barret – a mother-daughter team with a love for little things that spark big joy are parlaying their entrepreneurial talents into this additional venture. After opening Treat Cookies next door, they dreamed up this shop as a playful extension of that same sweetness. There, you’ll find thoughtfully-chosen toys, clothes, and treasures for kids, all curated with heart and a sprinkle of fun.
The business, located at 823 SW 152nd Street (map below), will host a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. Friday with free cookies from Treat Cookies while supplies last, according to event organizers.
On Friday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m., visitors can enjoy free dirty sodas and snacks while shopping.
A scavenger hunt for children and a prize wheel for customers with any purchase will be available both days.
Saturday’s activities will include a custom embroidery event with Tita Bun Co. from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., where customers can personalize clothing or bring their own items.
Shoppers who spend $150 will receive a free $25 embroidery service.
Event organizers noted that attendees can tag their purchase for a chance to win a refund.
