REMINDER: All are invited to join the 16th year of the Burien Brat Trot, and celebrate Burien Oktoberfest, in Downtown Burien, starting at 10 a.m. this Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025.
Brat Trot is a fun run along SW 152nd Street starting and ending next to Town Square Park in Downtown Burien, with an all ages 5k starting at 10 a.m., and the Kids 1k at 11 a.m.
The 5k starts with a warmup lead by bodySTRONG Burien.
Both the 5k and 1k routes are flat, stroller friendly, and well-behaved dogs on leash are always welcome.
Following the race are awards for the winners, an Alaska Airlines tickets raffle, and medals for all participants.
The Highline school with the most affiliated Brat Trot runners will win $500, and the adult team with the most participants will win a team party at Burien Pizzeria valued at $500.
Stick around for an all-ages after party until 3 p.m. hosted by Discover Burien, Logan Brewing Company, and The Point. Logan Brewing Company will be expanding their all ages (and dog friendly) beer garden into the street to include kids games and activities.
Sponsor booths, music, brats & pretzels, along with a root beer garden extend the festivities along 5th Ave SW, and The Point’s beer garden will be 21+ with free taster beers for runners and they are donating proceeds of their special Oktoberfest beer to the Highline Schools Foundation.
“We’re excited to be back again this year with so many supporting businesses and partners,” said Fred Swanson, Executive Director of the Foundation. “Burien Brat Trot remains one of our longest running and most loved community events!”
Race registrations, sales, and sponsorship help raise funds for Highline Schools Foundation and our work throughout Highline Public Schools. These funds support our work to provide basic needs like school supplies and warm coats, equitable and innovative learning opportunities in schools and classrooms, and college and career readiness for students at all grade levels and in every school in Highline.
NOTE: Pre-registration ends Friday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. After that time, fees will increase by $5.

We highly encourage you to skip the lines Brat Trot morning and pick up your race materials early. You’ll pick up race bibs and pre-ordered merch so that all you’ll need to do on race day is show up and start running (or walking/dancing/skipping – you do you).
