Burien Police arrested a man on multiple felony charges after he allegedly impersonated a law enforcement officer and threatened to kill a driver during a confrontation late Tuesday night, Oct. 1, 2025.
Police said the incident began when deputies were dispatched to a report of a person with a weapon.
Witnesses flagged deputies down at the scene, where they found a victim who reported being approached in their car by a man who flashed a sheriff’s badge, ordered them out of the vehicle, displayed a gun and issued threats.
Deputies later located the suspect fleeing on foot. During the pursuit, a deputy believed the suspect discarded a firearm. The man attempted to hide but was taken into custody after a high-risk stop, police said.
A K9 track helped officers locate the firearm believed to have been dropped during the chase.
The suspect was booked into jail on three pending charges.
