EDITOR’S NOTESince our creation in 2007, The B-Town Blog allows residents running for local office one free post for when they announce their candidacy. If you are a candidate running for local office in 2025 and you’d like a free story, please email a press release and photo to scott@southkingmedia.com.

I am a candidate for Commissioner Position #4 of the Highline Water District in the upcoming 2025 general election.

As a lifelong resident of this service area, I believe deeply in our community and am committed to working with you to ensure safe, reliable, and affordable water services now and for future generations.

About me:

  • I’ve served on the Highline Soccer Board and volunteered in youth soccer, coaching youth teams and refereeing both youth and high school games.
  • For nearly 15 years, my family and I have also been active with Guide Dogs for the Blind, volunteering as puppy raisers.
  • Professionally, I have worked for Southwest Suburban Sewer District for 35 years. Over that time, I’ve served as Operations Supervisor, overseeing two wastewater treatment plants, and more recently have taken on the role of Regulatory & Compliance Specialist. That work has given me firsthand experience with infrastructure, water quality, regulatory oversight, environmental protection, and long-term planning.

These experiences have prepared me to contribute meaningfully as a Water District commissioner.

If elected I intend to prioritize:

  1. Ensuring water quality and affordability remain the top priorities.
  2. Highline Water District is updating its Water System Plan in 2026, and there’s talk of a possible merger with Water District 54. These kinds of changes could really impact on how the district manages growth, infrastructure, and costs in the future.
  3. Investing in and maintaining infrastructure to reduce leaks, failures, and costly emergency repairs.
  4. Working collaboratively with fellow commissioners, staff, and community stakeholders to make sound decisions.

Thank you for considering me for Highline Water District Commissioner, Position #4.
