Re-elect Angelica Alvarez to Highline School Board

Angelica Alvarez is running for re-election to the Highline School Board to continue her commitment to supporting public education and our local schools.
For over 20 years, Angelica has served children and families as an educator, advocate, and trusted community leader, working to build strong public schools that serve every student.
“I believe every child deserves the opportunity to dream big and succeed,” says Alvarez. “I am committed to fostering well-funded schools where teachers are supported and every child’s potential is seen, nurtured, and celebrated.”
Angelica is the only candidate in the race with an educational degree; she holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in educational leadership.
As the daughter of migrant field workers, Angelica understands the challenges and opportunities that many Highline students and families experience as immigrants and refugees. A longtime Burien resident, she is also connected and committed to families who have deep roots in Highline.
As a Highline parent, grandparent, and School Board Director, she has been a vocal advocate for family voice and involvement in our schools.
Angelica’s priorities as School Board Director are to ensure academic support that challenges every student, based on their individual strengths and needs.
- Strengthen early learning for all children
- Build strong, inclusive partnerships with families and community
Use research-based practices to continuously improve the quality of education our schools provide.
