A person was pronounced dead late Wednesday night, Dec. 31 after being trapped underneath a vehicle in the 400 block of SW 155th Street (map below), according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to 911 calls at about 11:45 p.m. of a person pinned under a car.

Sadly, despite life-saving efforts at the scene, the individual was pronounced dead, police said.

Investigators believe the death was likely the result of an accident in which a vehicle slipped off jacks while the victim was working under it.

A nearby neighbor told The B-Town Blog that the vehicle had been parked on SW 155th Street for an extended period while broken down and supported by cinder blocks.

The case remains an active death investigation.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the victim’s identity and cause of death, authorities said.
