All are invited to gather in Burien on Saturday, February. 21 for a free Lunar New Year celebration featuring cultural performances, hands on activities and opportunities to learn about traditions that mark the start of the new year.

Discover Burien’s Lunar New Year Community Celebration will take place Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Burien Community Center (map below).

The event is free and open to the public.

Organizers say the family-friendly gathering is designed to welcome residents of all backgrounds to celebrate renewal, good fortune and fresh beginnings while connecting with neighbors and local community groups.

The morning will include cultural performances and demonstrations, craft activities for children and adults, and educational opportunities to learn about Lunar New Year customs and traditions.

Discover Burien describes the event as inclusive and welcoming to both longtime participants and those experiencing the holiday for the first time.
