A Mrs. Roper-themed fundraiser is coming to Olde Burien on Sunday, April 12, inviting participants to don colorful caftans and costume jewelry while raising money for Lighthouse Northwest.
Organizers are calling the event a “Roper Romp” and are asking attendees to meet in Olde Burien on SW 152nd Street between 3 and 3:30 p.m. for check in.
The event will feature drink specials at participating businesses, with proceeds benefiting Lighthouse Northwest.
A $25 suggested donation is encouraged. Organizers also ask participants to consider a $39 donation to help provide a night of safe housing. All donations will go to Lighthouse Northwest.
The event flier encourages attendees to “Get out those Caftans, costume jewelry and come dressed as your best Mrs. Roper.” Organizers are also seeking volunteers to assist with check in and businesses interested in participating.
For more information, organizers list a contact number for Adrianne at (253) 946-1293.

If you haven’t experienced the magic of a “Roper Romp” before, here are some photos from one held last year in White Center, along with a video of the original Mrs. Roper, played by Audra Lindley:
