Transform Burien is asking the community to donate plastic shopping bags and sturdy paper grocery bags to support operations at its food bank, which serves about 200 families and individuals each week.

According to a Facebook post, the local nonprofit said the bags are needed to help pack and distribute food to clients during weekly service hours.

“These bags make a huge difference as we pack and distribute food each week to around 200 families and individuals in our community,” Transform Burien said in a statement. “If you have extras at home, we would be incredibly grateful for your donation.”

How to Donate

Donations of plastic and paper grocery bags can be dropped off at Transform Burien (map below) on Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m., and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the organization.
