A suspected impaired driver was arrested early Saturday, Feb. 28, after a hit and run crash near South 124th Street and 8th Ave South in Burien left one person injured, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Burien Police deputies responded to the scene Saturday after reports that someone was yelling for help.
When deputies arrived, they determined the incident was a hit-and-run.
The person who was struck was transported to a hospital and is expected to be okay, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies located the suspect a short time later and took him into custody. He was booked for investigation of vehicular assault while under the influence of liquor or drugs. The suspect admitted to drinking, authorities said.
“The suspect’s car is the red one; you can see how the engine is totally separated from the vehicle, separated from the car,” police said in a statement.
