The Highline Schools Foundation will host its annual Project PROMise event April 16 to 18, providing free formal wear to students across Highline Public Schools who may not otherwise be able to afford prom attire.
The event will take place at the former Salmon Creek Elementary site, located at 614 SW 120th Street (map below), and is open to students of all genders enrolled in Highline Public Schools.
Project PROMise offers new and gently used dresses, suits, shoes and accessories at no cost. Students can sign up for a personal shopping appointment and will be assisted by a volunteer personal shopper during their visit.
Appointments are required, with shopping times scheduled for Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m., Friday from 2 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Organizers said the program aims to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent students from participating in milestone events such as prom or winter formals.
The foundation is also seeking volunteers to support the event, including help with setup and takedown, personal shopping assistance, restocking and logistics.
Students can register for appointments online, and those interested in volunteering can contact the foundation’s volunteer coordinator for more information.
