The Highline Heritage Museum will host a free Frida Kahlo Festival on Saturday, July 11, from Noon to 4 p.m., celebrating the life and legacy of the renowned Mexican artist through art, culture and community activities.
The festival will feature art exhibitions, live performances, a Mexican art market, educational programming, and interactive family activities designed to engage the community in Mexican cultural heritage and artistic expression.
The event will be held at the Highline Heritage Museum in Burien and is free to attend.
Museum organizers said the festival aims to honor Kahlo’s artistic legacy while providing opportunities for community members to learn about Mexican culture through hands-on activities, performances and educational experiences, including:
- Traditional Tehuana Dresses Exhibit
- Paintings Exhibit
- Face painting
- Live cultural performances
- Loteria game
- Frida Kahlo lecture
- Mexican Art Market
The festival is presented in partnership with the City of Burien and Burien 26, the city’s World Cup 2026 initiative. Organizers said the event is intended to bring residents and visitors together through cultural celebration and artistic expression.
