Tacos, music and World Cup soccer will come together at the Highline Heritage Museum in Burien this Saturday, June 27, during a community festival celebrating Mexican culture and one of the country’s most beloved foods.

The Taco Festival & World Cup Watch Party will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum, located at 819 S.W. 152nd Street (map below). The World Cup watch party will continue at 4:30 p.m.

This free event will explore the history, culture, migration and community stories connected to tacos through food, educational activities and live performances.

Festival highlights include curated taco vendors serving regional Mexican cuisine, story cards and QR codes explaining the history behind each dish, community storytelling activities, live tortilla-making demonstrations, salsa tastings and a pop-up exhibit examining food, migration and identity.

Visitors also can enjoy live musical performances and an educational presentation titled “Taco Talk,” a discussion on the history of tacos and regional varieties that begins at noon.

The event’s entertainment schedule includes face painting at 11 a.m., a performance by Grupo Citlali’s youth Mexican folkloric dancers at 1 p.m., and Lotería games with prizes from 3 to 4 p.m.

Soccer fans can watch two 2026 FIFA World Cup matches during the event. The museum will host a watch party for Panama vs England at 2 p.m., followed by a viewing of Colombia vs Portugal at 4:30 p.m.

The museum said the festival is intended to offer something for everyone, whether attendees are interested in food, culture, music or soccer.
