The Burien City Council could appoint a new councilmember at its meeting on Monday, July 27, after interviewing five finalists for the vacant Position No. 2 seat.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Burien City Hall (map below), and can be viewed live on Comcast TV Channel 21, via Zoom here and via live-stream here.
As we previously reported, the five candidates selected for interviews are:
- Jacques Colon
- Jessica Ivey
- Krystal Marx
- Torrance Dixon
- Patricia Hudson
Each candidate will have up to 20 minutes to interview with the council during the public meeting. The council is also scheduled for an executive session to evaluate the qualifications of a candidate for appointment to elective office, with potential action to follow.
The city received 14 applications before the application period closed June 26, and the council selected the five interviewees at its July 13 meeting.
