King County Metro Transit will expand and update bus service starting Aug. 29, adding seven new bus routes and thousands of additional trips across King County, according to the agency.
Route 121 Restoration
For South King County riders, the changes include the partial restoration of Route 121, with eight new morning and evening peak trips and service between Burien and downtown Seattle, Metro said.
More Morning & Late Night Trips
Metro said riders will see more morning and late night trips, increased weekend service and easier connections to the 1 Line and 2 Line on Link light rail.
The agency said some routes have been discontinued or replaced as part of the service improvements, and riders are encouraged to check whether their local route is changing.
Additional weekday trips will be added to routes 8, 72, 75 and 77 as part of the Seattle Transit Measure approved by voters in 2020, Metro said.
Metro also said two new Metro Flex pilot services will launch in Auburn and Federal Way, providing weekday connections to Link and Sounder stations.
