I am writing to thank Victoria Andrew’s for her Letter to the Editor titled Why Are We Out There? I too have attended a few of the protests held at the Big Catch Plaza in DesMoines as well as a couple in Renton and the No Kings rallies. I have never in the past, even during the Vietnam war when I was in college, felt the need to hit the streets to protest what our government is doing to the people and to this country. It is discouraging that people are asking why we are out there and seemingly oblivious to this slide into fascism being perpetrated by this administration. I am out there for all the reasons Victoria stated and to be part of the resistance in support of democracy which is under attack by this current regime. People need to wake up and realize the danger we are in. At the last one this past weekend there were very few young people there. That is discouraging, since the young people are the ones who are going to have to deal with this for the rest of their lives. Get out there with us!
