Community members are invited to cool off and connect with city staff during an Ice Cream Social hosted by Burien’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Lake Burien School Memorial Park.

The family-friendly event – to be held before the next free “Music in the Park” concert with the Smashing Flannels on July 17 – offers free ice cream and a chance to chat directly with parks and rec staff about upcoming capital improvement projects, recreation programs, facility rentals, trail maps, volunteer opportunities, and more.

City representatives will be on hand to answer questions and share updates on current and future initiatives aimed at enhancing Burien’s parks and recreational spaces.
