Burien Police say a 13-year-old boy tied to more than 20 felony crimes across King County was arrested this week following a coordinated investigation involving multiple law enforcement teams.
Police said the teen is accused of:
- Eluding multiple law enforcement agencies in stolen vehicles
- Larcenies where he used a fire extinguisher to spray victims while escaping
- Burglaries committed throughout King County
Detectives from Burien’s Criminal Investigative Division, Precinct 4 CID and the Burien Crime Reduction Unit tracked the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident this week.
“We want to recognize the dedication and teamwork of our detectives and partner agencies in bringing this case to a close,” police said in a statement. “Their persistence has helped put an end to a dangerous crime spree that impacted many in our community.”
The boy has been booked into custody.
Police did not release additional details, citing the suspect’s age and ongoing case proceedings.
Good job arresting that 13 yo criminal. Hope the prosecutors now do their job!
I am clearly more liberal than most but when even a youth of this age is convicted of violent crime, and multiple incidents of such, clearly it warrants prosecution as an adult. Perhaps incarceration should be at a youth facility until majority age. In this case twenty felonies is quite enough.
