Burien Police arrested a man Thursday morning, Feb. 5 after responding to a trespass call that led deputies to discover an active felony warrant for escape from community custody.

Deputies were dispatched around 11 a.m. to a report of a man refusing to leave a property after being asked multiple times by security personnel.

When deputies arrived, they contacted the man and requested identification.

After confirming his identity, deputies learned the man had a felony warrant issued by the Washington State Department of Corrections for escape community custody. The underlying offense tied to the warrant was failure to register as a sex offender, which police said was his second felony conviction.

Police also discovered the man had additional misdemeanor warrants from other jurisdictions.

The man was taken into custody without incident and transported to jail, where he was booked on the outstanding warrants, according to police.
