Burien Police deputies arrested a driver Thursday morning, Dec. 4 after responding to a welfare check and finding him unconscious behind the wheel with a firearm and drugs in his vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched at 11:50 a.m. to SW 154th Street and 1st Ave South (map below).
Police said the unconscious man was located in the driver’s seat with the keys in the ignition. He was safely detained and moved off the roadway.
During the investigation, the driver admitted to having drugs and a gun in the car, police said. The drugs were illegal, according to the department.
Police said the firearm was legally registered to the driver but was being stored in the vehicle without a concealed pistol license, which is a misdemeanor.
Both the gun and drugs were seized.
