A portion of 6th Ave SW at SW 148th Street will close to local traffic beginning Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, while crews install underground utilities for the SW 148th Street Intersection Improvements Project, the City of Burien announced.
The road is expected to reopen Friday, Aug. 22, once construction is complete.
City officials said the work is part of ongoing improvements aimed at enhancing safety and traffic flow through one of Burien’s busiest intersections.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during the closure.
Access will remain limited to local traffic only.
