BAT Theatre, a longtime staple in the Burien arts community, is urgently searching for new storage space after learning its current storage location will be repurposed by the property owner.

The nonprofit theatre company, known for its accessible ticket pricing and community-centered productions, has been asked to vacate its current storage facility by Friday, April 11, 2025. The sudden displacement threatens the preservation of critical stage sets, props, costumes, and technical equipment that make BAT’s work possible.

“Our storage landlord is repurposing BAT’s storage,” BAT said in a statement. “So we need to find storage right away for the items that allow BAT to do theater and keep our prices affordable. The more affordable the option the likelier it is we can afford it.”

BAT is ideally seeking approximately 2,000 square feet of storage space but notes that any available space would be a big help as the clock ticks down.

The theatre, which has been producing shows for 70 years, emphasized that support from the community can help ensure the continuation of high-quality, low-cost live theatre in the region.
