SAVE THE DATE: Families and nature enthusiasts will have the chance to witness one of the Northwest’s most iconic natural cycles when Mary Olson Farm in Kent welcomes Environmental Science Center’s “Salmon Fest” on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025.

The free event, hosted from Noon to 2 p.m., will give visitors the opportunity to observe spawning salmon, test water quality, and explore the habitat where the fish return each fall.

It is presented by Burien’s Environmental Science Center in partnership with the White River Valley Museum.

Organizers say the day is designed to connect people with the importance of salmon to local ecosystems. Participants will be able to take part in hands-on science activities, including water testing and habitat observation.

The event is supported by King County Wastewater Treatment Division, King Conservation District and 4Culture.

Mary Olson Farm is located at 28728 Green River Road, north of the Auburn Golf Course (map below). Parking is limited, and visitors are encouraged to carpool (view their website for parking details.) A short trail connects the parking area to the farm.
