Para Los Niños de Highline is inviting local emerging Latina artists to submit proposals for a commissioned artwork that will serve as the official image for the organization’s 2026 gala.

This annual Fundraising Dinner Gala – “Armonía” – is scheduled for Nov. 14, 2026, at 5 p.m. in Seattle.

According to the Burien based nonprofit, the annual gala celebrates creativity and diversity while providing a platform for artists whose work is not yet widely recognized. The 2026 gala will center on the theme “Harmony,” and organizers say the commissioned artwork will reflect interpretations of harmony across family, identity, nature and collective strength.

The call is open to local Latin American female artists who are emerging or lesser known. Para Los Niños said previous commissioned recipients are not eligible and all artwork submitted must be original and not previously exhibited.

Artists must submit a sketch of the proposed artwork along with a statement describing their interpretation of the theme Harmony. The submission also requires an artist biography, contact information and an optional portfolio link. Proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on April 15.

According to the organization, submissions will be reviewed anonymously by Para Los Niños staff and community members. Between five and ten artists will be selected for review before one artist is chosen for the final commission.

The selected artist will create a two dimensional artwork approximately 20 by 30 inches, with a maximum size of 32 by 40 inches. The commission includes a $1,500 honorarium. The finished artwork will become part of Para Los Niños de Highline’s permanent collection, and the organization will retain reproduction rights for prints, media and promotional materials.

The final artwork must be completed by June 17. The selected artist will also be recognized as an honored guest at the Para Los Niños de Highline gala scheduled for Nov. 14 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Para Los Niños de Highline said the gala commission offers artists an opportunity to share their voice through artwork while supporting an event that celebrates Latin American culture and community connection in south King County.
