Nepantla Cultural Arts Gallery and the White Center Community Development Association (WCCDA) have issued two open Calls for Artists to contribute work to the upcoming White Center HUB, a new community space intended to reflect the area’s cultural richness.

The project organizers are specifically seeking artists who have a connection to the White Center community and represent the area’s diverse cultural identities. The calls are split into two categories: public artists and visual artists.

“We are seeking cultural artists with a connection to the White Center community who represent the diverse tapestry of cultures that make up our beautiful community of White Center,” Nepantla Cultural Arts posted on Facebook.

The Public Artist Call is open to those with experience in tile patterning, glasswork, woodworking, sculpture, muralism and other forms of public art.

Applications Due Aug. 19

Applications are due by Aug. 19, with artist selections announced on Aug. 26.

The Visual Artist Call is focused on acquiring visual artwork to be displayed throughout the building.

The deadline for submissions is Aug. 10, with notification on Aug. 19.
