The Burien City Council has allocated $40,000 for 2026 arts and culture grants, with $35,000 approved for distribution to 14 artists and organizations, according to the city.
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Advisory Board approved the grants, which will fund cultural arts experiences for Burien residents throughout 2026.
The remaining $5,000 will be reserved for Open for Arts grants later in the year.
According to the city, grant recipients are selected based on applications that support ongoing Burien-based programs, introduce innovative cultural projects and expand arts and cultural education opportunities, particularly for underserved populations.

- Discover Burien for Lunar New Year Celebration
- Encanto Arts
- Highline Community Symphonic Band
- The Hi Liners
- Julie Seitz for Tahlequah and Baby Orca Story and Art
- Momentum Dance Academy
- Northwest Associated Arts
- Northwest Symphony Orchestra
- Orchestra of Flight
- Rainier Breakers for a breakdancing event
- Seattle Civic Dance
