Community members, neighbors, alumni, families, students and the public are invited to explore the brand-new Evergreen and Tyee High School campuses during upcoming grand opening events.

Visitors can tour state-of-the-art facilities, designed to foster belonging and equipped to prepare students for college and careers.

These taxpayer-funded, comprehensive, newly-built high schools feature welcoming, innovative learning spaces.

Tyee High School – Community Grand Opening

  • WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 7, 4–7 p.m.
  • WHERE: Tyee High School, 4424 S. 188th Street, SeaTac

Evergreen High School – Community Grand Opening

  • WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 9, 4–7 p.m. (drop-in)
  • WHERE: Evergreen High School, 830 SW 116th Street, White Center

Both schools will offer: 

  • Self-guided tours 
  • Interpreters 
  • Displays of student work  
  • Performances by student musicians 
  • Samples of scratch-made breakfast AND lunch items from the new school kitchens 
  • A chance to see inside a general classroom, as well as a science, woodshop, music, and career and technical education (CTE) classrooms. 
  • Tour stops at the courtyards, libraries, gyms and other activity spaces. 
  • Information about the building design from Integrus Architecture (Tyee) and Bassetti Architects (Evergreen).

2022 Bond Funded Two New High Schools

The construction of the new Evergreen and Tyee high schools was made possible by a bond measure approved by Highline voters in 2022. These new facilities are designed to support innovative teaching and learning for decades to come.
