A fundraiser has been launched to support the grieving family of 16-year-old Angel Gabriel Estrada Carbajal, who was tragically killed in a shooting in Burien on Friday, June 20, 2025.

The GoFundMe campaign describes Angel as “a loving son, a loyal friend, and a bright young soul whose life was taken far too soon.”

His tragic death has devastated family members, friends, and the wider South King County community.

Angel is survived by his mother, father, 8-year-old sister, and 4-year-old brother.

Funds raised will help cover funeral and burial expenses, grief counseling, and allow family members to take time off work as they cope with the sudden loss.

“We are raising funds to support Angel’s family… Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference,” organizer Alison Fisher said.

The campaign also calls on the community to stand together in support of the family and to work toward a future “where tragedies like this no longer happen.”

As of Thursday, the fundraising effort – which has a target of $12,000 – had begun gaining traction online, with community members sharing words of support and condolences.

No new details about the shooting have been released by authorities (read our previous coverage here).

  1. It seems very suspicious that there are no new details on this homicide. No suspects, yet there is no threat to the community?
