EDITOR’S NOTE: This post has been revised to reflect that the location of this incident was in Burien proper.
A man is in custody after calling 911 to report that he had shot someone on his property in Burien early Thursday morning, July 24, 2025, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).
Deputies responded shortly after midnight to a residence on 2nd Ave SW, just south of SW 116th Street, where they located a deceased individual.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office removed a body from the scene later in the morning.
KCSO’s Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
While one person is in custody, authorities have not confirmed whether charges have been filed or what lead up to the shooting.
