Construction is still underway, with completion expected sometime in May, 2024.

The newly-constructed Bloomside is located at 801 SW 150th Street.

  • The Grand Opening will be Thursday, May 23, from 2-3 p.m. and will feature speakers.
  • The Open House will be between 4-7 p.m., with tours of the building to learn about its unique features, as well as to meet the Bloomside team and learn about their services and tenants.

According to DESC:

“Bloomside is special in several ways, including the huge, intricate floral mural that will cover one side, and for which it’s named.

“This is DESC’s first PSH outside of the city of Seattle, and 25 of the 95 studio apartments are reserved for veterans.

“Eligible residents are single adults living with disabilities, who are highly vulnerable, earn less than $23,350 (30% of the area median income) and who have been experiencing homelessness for over one year. DESC provides full wrap-around services for our tenants.”

In June, Tenants Will Move In

  1. Yay! It’s been a long time coming with plenty of anger expressed over it. Looking forward to it.
