The Fred Meyer store at 14300 1st Ave South in Burien was evacuated Wednesday morning, Aug. 18, after a disturbance inside, the King County Sheriff’s Office said.

Police say they received a call about 8:10 a.m. Wednesday morning of a person in crisis inside the store.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we had all people leave the store,” King County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Tim Meyer told The B-Town Blog. “We were able to safely get the subject under our control. No one was injured.”

The subject is now in custody and patrol deputies are investigating. They will determine whether there is probable cause for charges.

“We’re glad that no persons or the subject in this case was injured and that this was a safe resolution,” Meyer added.
