A suspect has been identified in connection with a stolen vehicle recovered in Burien earlier this year after fingerprint analysis linked a known vehicle thief to the car, according to the Burien Police Department.
Deputies were dispatched in June 2025 to the 13400 block of 12th Ave SW to check on a vehicle that was pinging as stolen. When deputies arrived, they located the car but found no one inside. Before releasing the vehicle back to its owner, a deputy noticed fingerprints in the interior and requested assistance from the King County Regional Automated Fingerprint Identification System unit.
The AFIS team completed its analysis and notified the deputy on Nov. 19 that the prints belonged to an individual other than the vehicle’s owner.
Police said the person identified is a known vehicle thief with multiple other cases involving similar circumstances.
Burien Police reported that charges have been filed with the King County Prosecutor’s Office.

It’s about time they did more than take a report. My truck was stolen. Had pictures. Police only interested in drugs or guns when recovered.
