Families in South King County will have two opportunities to explore hands-on learning activities later this month, as the Highline Heritage Museum hosts a pair of educational programs for children on Saturday, Mar. 28.

The museum will present “Vehicles on the Move!” from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Highline Heritage Museum, featuring story time, counting activities and interactive play designed for preschool-aged children and their families, according to the Highline Heritage Museum.

Later that day, the museum will host “Our 50 States” from 2 to 3 p.m. at Normandy Park City Hall, 801 SW 174th Street, offering activities focused on U.S. history and geography for elementary and middle school students, families and community members.
The morning session will include reading two books about trucks, counting exercises, toy exploration and puzzles, all aimed at introducing early math and science concepts to young learners.
The afternoon program will guide participants through activities such as examining the history of the American flag, solving puzzles, answering trivia questions, matching photos to states and reading the Declaration of Independence.
Both events are designed to provide interactive, family-friendly learning experiences that encourage engagement with history, science and foundational academic skills, according to the museum.
