Past and current Highline High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductees gathered recently at a school assembly to celebrate their accomplishments and inspire current students, according to the Highline High School Alumni Foundation.
The event brought together a wide range of honorees representing decades of Pirate athletics.

Lori Box – Class of 1985
- 13th year as HHS AD
- 21st year at Highline High School
- 24th year in the Highline School District
- 4-year letter winner in swimming at HHS
- Attended University of Washington Undergrad – BA in English
- Attended University of Puget Sound Grad School – Master’s in Education
- 2022 KingCo Athletic Director of the Year
- 2024 Highline High School Alumnus of the Year
Ben Guidos – Class of 2006
- 4-year letter winner in Baseball at HHS
- 2-year letter winner in Basketball at HHS
- 3-time All-Seamount League in Baseball
- Unanimous Selection as Seamount League MVP during Senior Year of Baseball
- Won two Seamount League titles with the Pirates
- 3A State Player of the Year – 2006
- 4-year Baseball Player at University of Washington
Ron Luthy – Class of 1951
- 1951 State Basketball Champion
- First Team All-State 1951
- Hit Game-winning shot in double overtime vs. heavily favored Walla Walla HS in 1951 Semifinal Game
- Averaged 13.5 Points for the 27-1 Pirates
Don McDougall – Class of 1952
- 1951 State Basketball Champion

- Averaged 18.5 Points for the 27-1 Pirates
- Highline Pirate All-Time Leading Scorer for over 30 years
Casey (Murphy) Jeannot – Class of 1996
- 4-year letter winner in Swimming at HHS
- 6-time Washington State Champion
- State Records in 200m & 500m Freestyle in 1994
- Member of the 1993 State Championship Swim Team
- WIAA Swimming Hall of Fame Member
- 4-year Swimmer at Arizona State University
- All Pac-10 Selection
- NCAA All-American/Academic All-American
- Principal at Hazel Valley Elementary in the Highline School District
Ed Niehl – Class of 1944
- 3-Sport Athlete at HHS; Football, Basketball and Track at HHS
- 4-year Football Player at Washington State University
- Longtime Football coach and AD at Bethel High School
- Coached two undefeated and unscored on teams in 1955 & 1958
- Both teams finished ranked #1 in the state
- Bethel High School Gymnasium was dedicated in his honor in 1981
Mark Turner – Class of 1967
- 3-year letter winner in Football at HHS
- HHS Football Team Captain in 1966-67
- NPSL Football Champions in 1966-67
- All-state Football Selection in 1966-67
- 4-year Athletic Scholarship Football Player at University of Washington (1967-1970)
- 3-year letter at UW
- Earned his Degree in Business at UW while playing there.
The Highline High School Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes former student-athletes, coaches, and community members who have made significant contributions to the school’s athletic legacy.
Inductees are celebrated not only for their achievements in sports but also for their leadership and commitment to the Highline community.
The Alumni Foundation, which supports Highline High School students through scholarships, events, and recognition programs, said the assembly provided an opportunity for current students to connect with Pirate history and see the long-lasting impact of athletics on graduates’ lives.
