Burien’s Highline High School Pirates will kick off their 2025 football season this Friday night at 7 p.m., facing rivals Mt. Rainier Rams at Highline Memorial Stadium in Burien.

The season opener marks a highly anticipated start for the Pirates, looking to build on last year’s performance and make a push in the competitive KingCo conference.

Last season ended with a 2-7 record under head coach JT Jackson, who took over coaching duties and began rebuilding the program. Though not yet ranked, the Pirates look to make an immediate impact this year riding a renewed energy and strong community support.

Highline High, established in 1924 and a member of KingCo’s 2A division, hosts its home games at the historic Highline Memorial Stadium. The iconic venue, originally built in 1946 and rededicated in 1963, stands as a living memorial to alumni lost in World War II.

The 2025 schedule features a balanced slate: non-conference home games against Evergreen (Sept. 12) and Interlake (Sept. 18) follow the opener. Conference play resumes with Issaquah on Sept. 26, North Creek on Oct. 3, Lake Washington on Oct. 10, Juanita on Oct. 17, and Liberty on Oct. 24.

Highline fans are encouraged to arrive early this Friday for a night of football, camaraderie, and community support.
