Highline Public Schools this month launched a new podcast aimed at sharing firsthand stories from students, staff, families and community partners across the district.

The series, titled “The Promise Podcast,” is hosted by Superintendent Ivan Duran and features conversations focused on belonging, learning and the district’s commitment to knowing every student by name, strength and need, according to Highline Public Schools.

The podcast is designed to give listeners insight into daily life inside Highline classrooms and hallways while strengthening connections across the school community.

“When we hear directly from our team members, we learn what belonging, inspiration and hope look like in real time,” Duran said. “These conversations help us stay grounded in the Promise to know every student by name, strength and need.”

The first episode features Sylvester Middle School Principal Chad Kodama, who discusses how his school supports student belonging, including strategies that help students transition into sixth grade. The episode is titled “Belonging, Transitions and a Little Game of Thrones.”

The Promise Podcast is available on the Highline Public Schools website, Podbean and major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music. District officials encouraged listeners to rate, review and subscribe to the series.
