A man was arrested earlier this week after Burien deputies responded to a report of a violent domestic assault and later learned the suspect was wanted on three outstanding felony warrants, according to the Burien Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment following a report of a physical altercation between an adult couple. When they arrived, police said the suspect slammed the door in their faces and retreated inside the apartment.

Deputies then looked through a window and saw a female victim standing in the living room bleeding heavily.

Police said the suspect’s father allowed deputies to enter the apartment after the suspect ran to a back bedroom, before jumping out of a second story window.

The victim told deputies the suspect, identified as her boyfriend and the father of her infant child, struck her with a glass frame, causing a laceration to her left leg and significant bleeding.

Deputies established probable cause to arrest the suspect for third degree assault, a felony under state law. Police requested a K9 unit and set up a perimeter to contain him as they searched the area.

K9 Dingo and his handler responded and began tracking the suspect. Police said he called out and surrendered when he saw the K9 approaching. He was taken into custody without incident.

A records return of the suspect’s name revealed he was also wanted on three outstanding felony warrants, including:

  • Eluding a police vehicle, which stemmed from an earlier incident in the year where the same suspect led Deputies on a high-speed pursuit.
  • Theft of a motor vehicle from the King County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Escape Community Custody (Robbery) WA DOC.

The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of felony assault and the three additional warrants.

The King County Prosecutor’s Office later filed a charge of third degree assault, and a judge set bail at $110,000.
