Burien’s downtown will be transformed into a wondrous, magical, glowing outdoor gallery on Saturday night, Sept. 6, 2025, when the city’s annual “Arts-A-Glow” festival returns with lanterns, live performances and community art displays.

The city-sponsored event will run from 7 to 10 p.m., centered around Burien Town Square Park and spanning surrounding streets from 4th Ave SW to the Art Alley to SW 153rd Street to Ambaum Blvd. SW.

According to the official festival map (click link or see below), the celebration will feature lantern art installations throughout downtown, live music and dance performances – including an exciting performance from VamoLá! from 8:30 – 9 p.m. – activity zones for families and more.

“Building on the success of previous festivals, 2025 will feature a new collection of art including projection mapping on buildings, light-art installations, roving performers, spectacles, and hands-on experiences for people of all ages,” organizers said.

Arts-A-Glow has become one of Burien’s signature cultural events, drawing thousands of visitors from around the region. This year’s layout places artist booths and performance areas along SW 152nd Street and in the park, while food and beverage vendors will be clustered near the 5th Ave SW entrance.

Visitors can expect traffic impacts around the Town Square area, as sections of SW 152nd Street and nearby intersections will be closed to vehicles during the event. Parking is available in downtown lots and nearby streets, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early and consider public transit.

The free festival is designed to showcase local and regional artists while bringing the community together for an evening of light, color and music.
