A longtime neighborhood favorite will briefly return to the spotlight this weekend when “Paula’s Pop-Up” takes over the front of Burien’s closed Three Tree Point Store on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will feature small-batch baked goods including olive oil brownies with chocolate buttercream, ready-to-bake oat and date scone dough, browned butter chocolate chip cookies, and maple vanilla pecan granola.

Prices range from $8 to $20.

Customers are encouraged to pre-order by Wednesday night, Sept. 10 through Instagram direct message at @sugarandloveseattle.

“There will be a limited number of items for sale for pop in customers, so please pre-order to be sure you get all you want,” organizers said in a post:

As we previously reported, the Three Tree Point Store closed at the end of August – with hopes of re-opening soon, either in Downtown Burien or at its original location (or both, pending who gets rights to its name…) – and its future is still unknown.

This may be the first pop-up and special event held outside the historic old storefront.

  1. My understanding is that Nelle Bruce owns the rights to the name “Three Tree Point Store” since she was actually *doing business* under that name AND she strengthened that ownership by purchasing the trademark rights through the USPTO. The only way to usurp her ownership would be if someone was actually *conducting business* under that name prior to Ms. Bruce. Just using that name on an account does not suffice as evidence of conducting business. A new business at that TTP location will need to come up with a new name that “does not cause customer confusion” per trademark laws or Ms. Bruce could send a Cease and Desist letter to them. I am not here to take sides, but as a long-time business consultant, this is often not common knowledge and I think it’s helpful for neighbors to know as they form opinions.
