Snow dusts London plane trees along SW 152nd Street and 6th Ave SW in downtown Burien in this photo by Mary Ann Newton taken Friday, Mar. 13, just a week before the official start of spring.

The late season snowfall, the first significant one of the winter, arrived and transformed the streets around Town Square into a beautiful winter wonderland.

London plane trees are a large hybrid shade tree commonly planted along city streets, known for their distinctive peeling bark and broad maple-like leaves.
