Burien CARES Animal Control welcomed the New Year with an adoption focused community event Jan. 1, hosting its Polar Pup Parade featuring adoptable dogs.

The parade showcased dogs currently available for adoption as they were walked through the community, giving residents an opportunity to meet the animals and learn more about adoption efforts, according to Burien CARES.

The event was held on New Year’s Day and drew community members who came out to support local animal rescue efforts and interact with the dogs.

Burien CARES said the parade highlighted the importance of adoption while celebrating the start of 2026.
