Power was knocked out for 11,500 Seattle City Light customers in the West Seattle, SeaTac and Burien areas at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
The outage was widespread – in West Seattle; Burien from Three Tree Point up north through Gregory Heights and Lake Burien; then east into parts of SeaTac and Tukwila.
Seattle City Light is investigating the cause, but it coincides with a surprisingly strong windstorm that hit at around 2:45 p.m. (we felt and scrambled from the sudden 30+ mph winds firsthand while working in the yard).
City Light said the estimated restoration time will be Saturday night, April 20, 2024 at 10 p.m.

Crews are responding to outages in the West Seattle, SeaTac, and Burien areas affecting approx. 11,500 customers. The cause is under investigation and an estimated time of restoration has yet to be determined.
