The Rotary Club of Burien White Center will host its annual fundraising gala on Thursday night, April 30 at Glen Acres Golf and Country Club, featuring dinner, auctions and recognition of local community leaders.
The event will include a silent and live auction, raffles and the club’s Service Above Self Awards, which honor individuals making a difference in Burien and White Center.
This year’s honorees are Nancy Salguero McKay, executive director of the Highline Heritage Museum, and Pat Thompson, executive director and co founder of The YES Foundation.
For more than 70 years, the Rotary Club of Burien White Center has supported local causes through volunteer service and fundraising, benefiting organizations such as the White Center Food Bank, WestSide Baby, Highline Schools Foundation and Environmental Science Center, along with scholarships for local graduating seniors and programs such as Children’s Shop with a Cop.
Organizers said community support through sponsorships and auction donations helps fund these programs. Businesses and individuals are invited to contribute items such as gift baskets, services, experiences or financial donations to support the gala.
Those interested in sponsoring or donating can contact organizers by email for more information.
“Thank you for supporting our mission, your support is invaluable.”
