A teenage passenger suffered serious injuries on Wednesday afternoon, July 23, 2025, after being stabbed during an altercation on board a King County Metro bus in Burien, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, as the northbound bus traveled along Ambaum Blvd. SW near SW 124th Street (map below).

Deputies say an altercation between two passengers escalated and resulted in the stabbing.

The injured passenger, described by police as a teenage male, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition.

Authorities took a suspect into custody at the scene.

The King County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation.

Officials reassured commuters that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Sheriff’s investigators have not released the names of the victim or suspect, and no motive has been provided.
