Tukwila Police have arrested a convicted felon accused of running a mobile drug delivery operation – including near areas frequented by children – according to a department statement released on Thursday, July 3.

Police said the arrest was the result of an investigation led by the department’s Special Emphasis Unit and Special Investigations Unit, which had been monitoring the suspect’s activity in and around Cascade View Community Park and along Tukwila International Boulevard.

“Detectives discovered that the suspect frequently visited the park and was dealing narcotics while youth were present and utilizing the space,” the department said in the release.

The suspect was taken into custody and found in possession of narcotics. A loaded firearm was recovered during a search, and two vehicles were impounded. Search warrants were also executed at two Tukwila residences, with more pending.

“The Special Emphasis Unit continues to dedicate time towards disrupting drug dealers in our community, especially those who operate near our vulnerable and impressionable youth,” the department said.

Police also emphasized their collaboration with mental health professionals to assist those struggling with substance use and homelessness, and thanked community members for their ongoing support in reporting suspicious activity.
