UPDATE: The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man killed in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning, July 10, 2025, as 18-year-old Ernesto Manuel Sanchez of Burien.

Sanchez died of multiple blunt force injuries after the car he was in crashed into a tree in the area of SW 118th Street and Ambaum Blvd. SW, according to officials.

As we previously reported, deputies from the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at around 3:15 a.m. early Thursday and found a severely damaged vehicle with a single occupant inside.

Sanchez was unconscious when first responders arrived. Aid was called, but sadly he was declared dead at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Response and Reconstruction (MARR) unit is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash.

No other vehicles were involved, and further details have not yet been released.
