Volunteers are needed for two events on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026 to help local forests in Burien and SeaTac:
- 10 a.m. – Noon at North SeaTac Park: help restore park habitat through removal of invasive plants and trail area cleanup. For more details, click here or email Caitlin Konya at caitlinakonya@gmail.com.
- 1:30 – 4 p.m. at Salmon Creek Ravine: help remove common ivy to help native plants and wildlife thrive. For more info, click here, or email Victoria Love at victoria.love@kingcd.org.
These events are part of the annual MLK Day of Service, which encourages community members to honor the day through volunteer work that supports local communities and public spaces.
The efforts will focus on restoring park habitat through removal of invasive plants and trail area cleanup, according to Green SeaTac and Green Burien.
