Volunteers are needed to help restore the urban forest and stream habitat for Miller and Walker Creeks in Burien and Normandy Park in November.

No experience is necessary, and volunteers will receive on-the-job training. Gloves, tools, and snacks will be provided.

  • The first event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Miller Creek Trail in Burien (14455 Des Moines Memorial Dr.). Volunteers will meet at the trailhead, where parking is available. SIGN UP HERE
  • A second event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Walker Preserve Park in Normandy Park (S 168th St & 2nd Ave S). Parking will be available at the Wilson Park parking lot. SIGN UP HERE

What to Bring:

  • Gardening or work gloves (available to borrow if needed)
  • Closed-toe shoes (e.g., sturdy sneakers, rain boots, hiking boots)
  • Layers of clothing that can get dirty
  • Long sleeves and thick pants for protection from thorny plants
  • Rain gear or sun protection, depending on the weather
  • A full water bottle

This project is a joint effort of the City of Normandy Park, the City of Burien, the City of SeaTacKing County, the Port of Seattle, and the Miller and Walker Creeks Stewardship program.

NOTE: There are no restrooms available on these trails, so please plan accordingly.
