You might want to batten down your hatches Burien, as the National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory for much of western Washington, including the south King County area.

The advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, through 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.

Forecasters said southeast to southwest winds of 15 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts reaching 35 to 45 mph at times, and more rain…lots of it.

“Seattle got over an inch in a 24-hour period, local meteorologist Michael Snyder said. “We broke that 680-plus day period of not getting one inch of precipitation. So, bravo Seattle, we did get some of that heavy rainfall yesterday.”

The weather service warns that gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects like patio furniture or Halloween decorations, knock down tree limbs and cause scattered power outages (something we’re kinda used to in B-Town).

Drivers of high-profile vehicles were urged to use extra caution, and residents were advised to secure outdoor items.

Snow in the passes is also a possibility according to Snyder, who says that the white stuff will fall mainly above 3,500 feet.

The advisory covers a wide area of northwest and west central Washington, including King, Pierce, Snohomish, Thurston and Lewis counties.
